Overview

Hira Ahmad has considerable experience in corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, arbitration, regulatory compliance and LNG projects. She regularly drafts finance and security documents for commercial banks including standard master documentation for various categories of loans/ advances and independently structures product specific documentation in respect of new banking product lines. Recently, Hira has advised the State Bank of Pakistan and drafted documentation in respect of the amalgamation of one of the scheduled banks in Pakistan with and into another scheduled bank and is also involved in the legal proceedings initiated by shareholders of the transferor bank. She also has substantial experience in power projects and has been instrumental in the negotiation and finalization of the LNG operation and services agreements and ancillary documentation in respect of various LNG import terminal projects of the Government of Pakistan, including Pakistan’s first LNG import terminal project.

Hira specializes in banking and finance, company and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, cross border arbitration, software contracts, competition laws, tender process and procurement, employment law, pharmaceutical laws and power projects. Ms. Ahmad has contributed towards various publications, including, UK based publications ‘Global Legal Insights’ on cartels and ‘Chambers Global Practice Guides’ on banking laws and practice in Pakistan.
