Mustafa has extensive experience in corporate and commercial laws, including mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, information technology, technology start-ups, tender process and procurement, telecommunications and media, oil and gas sectors and power projects including alternative energy IPPs.
Heading the Mergers and Acquisition desk along with being the lead on large infrastructure and government projects and one of the leading individuals advising clients on Privatization in Pakistan, Mustafa’s list of clients is reflective of the confidence his clients have in him.
Mustafa has also been at the fore front of advising Fintechs and Technology startups in the initial infancy stage in Pakistan leading the way in advising the regulators and the government, along with his clients in the early years of such companies in Pakistan. He continues to advise such clients in regular corporate matters, raising funds (angel and seed), and corporate structuring and was the one of the lead lawyers in the recent first successful exit for a Fintech in Pakistan.
Additionally, Mustafa sits on various boards of both public and private limited companies, including Sindh Economic Zones Management Company (SEZMC) which has been set up to facilitate domestic and foreign investors to invest in the manufacturing sector by offering special exemptions and incentives, illustrates not only the high esteem the clients hold Mustafa in, but the government’s recognition of the special expertise Mustafa brings to the table. Additionally Mustafa currently also sits on the board of SSWSB, another public company set up by the Government of Sindh.
Mustafa Mumtaz is a graduate of the University of Wolverhampton and is a Barrister-at-Law. He is enrolled as an Advocate and is a Member of Sindh Bar Council.
